We're thinking Green!

In the apparel printing business it's not uncommon to find extensive use of aerosol sprays and harsh cleansers (for everything from cleaning ink off screens to getting spots off of apparel). It has been a necessary, though unwanted, aspect of doing business.

For some time now we have been trying to make our operations as Green as possible. Even though we have always tried to keep our impact on the environment at a minimum, after a lot of research we have finally been able to take even further steps to reduce our footprint on the community.

Recently we have switched, at a considerable ongoing expense, many of our cleaning & preparation chemicals to soy-based products; making virtually everything we use in the printing process bio-degradable. These products contain no dangerous vapors or odors to polute the air and they are safe enough that if the chemicals got on the skin, the chemicals can just be washed off with water. Since they are 100% biodegradable and non-toxic, they can be disposed of through the drain system.

We have also taken several steps to reduce the use of any chemicals that would add polution to the air. This includes purchasing special equipment that will remove spots on cured apparel and investigating water-based solutions for securing apparel to printing boards (pallens) without areosol sprays.

In our effort to be Green, though "it's not easy to be green", we will continue to research the lastest technology and products in the industry and ensure that we are doing the best we can to be an eco-friendly neighbor to our community.
